No-one likes to think of tragedy and things going wrong. But it does happen. And sadly, all too frequently.
An employee of one of our Clients was driving home from a business meeting when the car swerved across the road. It collided with a truck, and tragically, the employee was killed.
Thankfully, our Client, their employer, had Death-in-Service cover in place, which covered 4 times salary for all staff. Within 2 weeks, the insurance company paid out €320,000.
No amount of money can replace the life of a loved one, of course, but it did provide funds to help the surviving spouse and children to reconstruct their lives. They also had a mortgage protection policy, which cleared the mortgage so at least financially, the family were able to manage.
